Does anyone on here know if i can tune with my ipod touch? I have a palm and it is a POS and i hate it, im just curious as to what i can use to tune with (other than my laptop). I would like to run TMO on my laptop but i cant find the software anywhere

Can you even add any kind of software to an ipod? I don't think you can. Why do you say your palm is crap? Is your crappy or you think palm is crap in general. I'm very happy with mine.

You can. The iPod touch and iPhone can have sopftware installed if its unlocked (for now) and making software to data log to work on the unlocked iphone/ipod touch is a major pain.

The official SDK (software development kit) IS out (for mac only..) which allows for custom software. With this SDK it would be a lot easier to create a logger software compared to the "hacked" approach for unlocked phones.
The problem with the SDK though is you can not release any thing until the new firmware is out.

Also, you will need a custom hardware... so making that is a whole seperate pain.

Is it possible? Probably, is it easy? no. Would any one do it? Very doubtful as there are enough logger solutions out there (that are cheaper and easier to implement) to make this pointless for most people.

Well, If you can find or make a datalogger in Java/JavaScript that would work on the iPod, or iPod Touch, or iPhone. Such as DSMLink's program is all Java so you could actually use that if you could get a connection from the device to the ECU.

That is very cool to know. For the cost of the 8gb (I think) ipod touch you could get an ebay laptop and pay for a bit of dsmlink to boot.
