I am going to be replacing my timing belt very soon and was going to also replace the water pump with it. I was going to buy the whole kit from JNZ tuning with the water pump. Is this all I would need to be an adequate replacement? Or would I be better off getting the parts from somewhere else for cheaper?

Get the kit that you are talking about. They have the best price I have found. Might want to do the balance shaft belt also. Or a balance shaft eliminator kit.

That kit is a good price. Removing the balance shafts is a good idea too. If that belt breaks it could wreak havoc on your t-belt and subsequently your head components.

Good luck.

I can't find the kit you are talking about, but make sure it includes the timing belt tensioner and pulleys as well. While your down there you might as well replace everything at once and not have to worry about one of the neglected parts failing and causing the new T belt to fail.

Yes it includes them. Timing Component Kit- 6 bolt : JNZ Tuning

Looks like a great kit, and good price for OEM replacement parts. I'd say this is going to be your best bet. Don't cheap out and buy anything other than OEM when it comes to the timing belt and related components.

I am going to be replacing the t-belt with the engine still in the car....would I be able to do the balance shaft removal with the engine in or is it too much of a pain in the ass?

I'm notsure about a 2g. But a 1g is pretty easy with the engine in.
