So I'm getting the serious runaround. I have a bunch of fuel upgrades that I've put together and currently installing. I've got the injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail, fuel pump rewire, ect. Heres the problem,... I have a DSMlink, but theres no one in my area to safley socket my ecu. Everyones a little to shady to trust, being that ecu are rare and not cheap. Plus I've sent like 10 emails to ecmtuning.com with no resopse. So my plan is save up to purchase another ecu to socket and have stock one for back up. But saving gets me no where with no control on the extra fuel i've installed(view profile).
So heres the big question! A happen to have a apexi AFC-2. I know this isn't the proper solution to a big fuel upgrade but can it work? Can I lean out my A/F ratio to run this set up safley? Could I dyno tune this setup to run rich in the high rpms but still avoid fuel cut? I know I cant block fuel cut like I could with DSMlink, but could I push the boundries with this set up with proper tuning? Would I have to lean out my fuel curve alot to prevent damage from running rich with alot more fuel supply? Can The AFC-2 handle this setup?
I also have a wideband o2 sensor intalled to help with the tuning( Was going to wire it into to my ecu for DSMlink). Should I increase fuel pressure at all with a piggy back? This is really a short term fix, I just want to know if it will even work untill I get the extra ecu for the DSMlink. I'm also not expecting serious hp gains, just somthing that will be run safe but with a little extra kick!

What size Injectors and Fuel Pump? If Im not mistaken DSMLink offers Socket Service, granted that would cause you some downtime. I cant comment on the effectiveness of an AFC, hopefully someone else can chime in. Good luck.

EDIT: Nevermind on the DSMLink Socket Service, I misread that you have already e-mailed them. Reading > Me.

I'm suprised that you haven't received a response from the guys at DSMLink. Everytime I've emailed them, I've gotten a response within a couple of hours. Maybe your emails are getting blocked by their spam filter?

You can always send your ECU to Steve. He does great work and is a highly respected member of this site.

I've emailed steve 5 times with no response. I dont know what the f@#k is going on. I have a walbro 255 fuel pump and will be running 550cc injectors with an aromotive adjustable fpr. I perfer DSMlink but that will have to wait. The comptuer stores are just like yeah what ever we can do it, with no experice. Can the AFC2 work for short term???

So you bought a DSMLink, but didn't buy an extra ECU to have socketed, and ECMTuning doesn't want to socket your ECU for you...

I'm guessing you bought a V1 chip off of someone for very cheap. It's no wonder they don't want to help you out when you're trying to use a pirated copy of their product. They have to devote their time to providing support for paying customers.

Wow thats funny A$$hole! No its not a pirated copy! It has a verified chip number and my user name and password works fine with DSM Forums. Also I've done my research to make sure it wasn't a fraud and its the V2 program, and it wasn't cheap, and is brand new. If it was a fake would they at least tell that with all the info I gave them and all the emails I've sent. Plus I've emailed them before I bought the chip with no response. This was a legitamate sale, from a registered resaler. Besides, my question is about the AF
C2, Stay on the topic!

Well did you try PMing Tom or Dave on the forum? I've never had to wait more than 12 hours to get a response from them. I find it odd that you can't get in touch with them after you bought a legitimate product.

I hope I didnt purchase a 500 dollar pile of sh!t. If it wasnt legit, wouldnt my user name and password not work. I've logged on to dsmlink forums a few times before but I'll try to start a new thread to figure out whats going on.

Yes the afc would be fine for the 550s. I previously ran 650s with an afc with no problem. If you run something larger ex 880s the afc would not offer enough correction to completely tune things properly.
