[RESOLVED] how to take of fog light bulb?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Both times I've done it, the front bumper has been off and I just took the whole fog light assembly off. I can't remember if you HAVE to take it off or if it's just a cover to take off while it is still on.

i tried taking the screws of the light bulb cover..but its a star with a cicle like in the middle..but i dont have that tool...is there another way to take em off

that will just take off the lens; you wont be able to access the bulb from there. You can get them off without taking the bumper off, though the clearance is super tight.

There are 3 bolts that hold the housing to the frame, 10mm i think: one on either side of the fog and the third you can only see once you remove the height adjustment screw.

Once those 3 bolts are off you need to try and get the assembly out the opening in your bumper; the passenger side was easy but the drivers was a pita last time i had to do it.

To open the foglight and replace the bulb follow Defiant's link.

I guess I'm glad I posted that tech article..glad to be helping people out....If you have any questions pm me

Taking the front cover off allows you to gain access behind the lens...You'll of course need a special star bit....Go to the local sears and buy one....take off the front cover and clean both sides of the lens I used a "rag in a box" (box is at lowes...really nice to have)...amazing how much crud actually gets inside there...
