Melted harness

I took my car to get fixed they said the wiring harness was melted they didn’t say where though they just put the harness back in. Was driving one day and the car just shut off they said the harness is melted and it was a common problem in DSM's I don’t know if there talking about the one inside the dash or the engine harness.

You should probably ask them about it. Have them show you what harness was melted. I never heard of melting harnesses being a common dsm problem.

I did ask them they just keep saying it’s melted and I ask them where and they just say the wiring harness is melted and that the part was discontinued. They said they cant fix the problem.

Bring it to a different shop. A wiring harness doesn't need to be in production to easily fix one that is melted in a spot.

Well they are stupid because the 1st time they said it was the ECU and I bought a brand new one and it still doesn’t start. I can’t find melted wires though....

I have an auto harness if your auto, I was going to modify it for my 5speed.
I actually was just at the dealership, and they still have all the harness' in stock, mostly LA area.

I don’t need anything for it I have everything and then some all I need to do is figure out the problem I guess ill just take it to a different shop I just bought this car it’s my 4th DSM its an AWD laser so yea...
