Edmonton,
Mine is snapping in half, I need to get a new one. Should I just make one or can I buy one somewhere online?

If you're talking about the wooden board under the carpet in the rear hatch area, you should make one out of some thick gauge aluminum sheeting or something. :) Better yet, carbon fiber!!! Or just pick up one at a junkyard.

Yeah thats the exact part i'm talking about! And thanks for the ideas. I'll check out some junkyards first. I gotta put my subwoofers in but the damn thing is about to snap in halfROFL!

I did my 1g today, to level the floor over the spare tire hump.

Use the old one as a template. Home depot has a good selection of suitable wood, I got 2 sheets of 24x48, and there was a good amount left over. I just need to find some carpet now, perhaps a larger car at the junkyard will have something suitable to cut down.

thats what i did when i installed a custom stereo system in my last car. just get the would and cut it to size. then pick up some spray on adhesive which you can find at home depot and a roll of carpet thats used to cover sub-boxes. worked out great.

I don't have a covering in my hatch/trunk area whatever you wanna call it. It's open and you can see where the spare sits. What goes there to cover up the spare tire area? I bought it like that not realzing it.:toobad: Also, in the spare tire area, I have 2 2" holes that open up to the ground. Does anyone else have this issue? I will have pictures later.

Yes, those "2 inch holes" are there for drain purposes in case water settles in that area. There should be rubber plugs that go there. You can try the junkyard, there def should be some there.

Now, as far as the spare tire cover goes; stock it came with a thin piece of "board" (dont know what it's called) and then the carpet rests on top of that. Most people (including myself) tend to replace it with something more sturdy like plywood.

It is really easy to make your own out of some 1/4" plywood. I made the spare tire cover and a deck lid cover without too much trouble. I can post pics of them for you if you want, but the entire interior is our of my car right now because I'm working on a little clean up project.

A new spare cover is like $120 (JNZ Tuning Spare Cover) or make your own for like $30

Go to a junkyard. When I first bought the car my old one was moldy due to water sitting in the well. I pulled the plugs out to drain, cleaned it, and got a cover with hinges from a junkard for 10 bucks.

I went to the junkyard today and found what I thought to be the plugs for the holes in the hatch. They're too big so I'm back to nothing. I also could not find a decent tire cover either. I am probably going to just do the plywood for that to save money. But can someone post a picture of these plugs so I know what I'm looking for or that I can find something at a Home Depot or Lowes to make it work?

i made the replacement trunk floor cheap

1/4" particle board - $17
black felt material from walmart - $6

just cut it to fit, wrapped it, and stapled it all down on the bottom side, came out really clean:thumb:

I like his idea! I have used the 3M spray glue with partical board and fabric and It has worked great, easy to work with and very robust in the long run.

Also, I think its on dsm.org or vfaq, but they have some other options for your trunk too, like adding foam to hold a tool box or a fire extiguisher.

Or you could get cheap performance and just rip it all out........

I'm missing the floor panel too. I'm gonna try to cut out a board to fit and use some kind of crappy carpet to make an eagle logo. Black with a red eagle. Turns out black carpet is pretty rare so I'm still looking for some.
