Has anyone ever seen a cam walk on 6 bolt blocks this has just happened to my car. no one i know has ever seen this

cam walk this is a new one im sure for everyone i ran my acr at the track yesterday and ran the worst time my car has ever seen. aftre words me and my friend took off the valve cover and besides blowing my head gasket and losing a valve we noticed the inyake cam has forward and back movement the bearing journals are worn and this head only has 10k on it it was totally re done and its shot

Actually I just did a head gasket on my car and noticed that the journals were worn in a zig-zag form. I also thought of cam walk being the cause, however I have never heard of cam walk on a dsm before. I couldn't feel any lateral play in the cams either.

first crank walk, now cam walk...next to come...turbo walk! ha

with SO many DSM's being bult and used over the years, it is hard to think that this so called "cam walk" would be found now...

i wouldn't be laughing to much this actually can happen but is really rare. me and my father had a problem of "cam walk" with a Yamaha fj 1100 motor out of a ledgend car. What was wrong was the head was cracked and rewelded close to the one cam support. When it was fixed it warped the one side of the head and would chew cams up along with valves. but if this was a new head i'm guessing a cam cap wasn't torqued down right and there was your problom. oh by the way we weren't the ones that tried welding it, we just built the motors for the guy he got the head from another racer :nono:

well this cam walk deal realy screwed everthing on the car the timing belt got chewed too. New head goin in.
