oil pump sproket turns but wont come off

ok, well ive had this little oil leak for quite some time now, so i decided to fix it to day. the leak was coming from the front of the motor(t-belt side) so i took off my timming cover and saw that i was leaking from the tensioner bolts, and the oil sproket, i atempted to remove the sprocket with no luck. i used a vice script to hold it in place and a 14mm socket to turn the nut, well the nut turned(kinda loose) but it will not come off, it will just spin and spin on the gear bolt. i dont understand why its doing this. also i have my b/s eliminated. thanks in advance!!!

ok well got it off, ended up being the nut was stripped on the sprocket. my new question is, is it possible for oil to come out threw the bolt if its not tightened?
