Ok.... here is the story guys...
I rebuilt my 95 gsx, put new rings in and good OEM pistons(since the last pistons were melted). The block started to knock due to NO oil pressure and spun all 4 bearings. I ended up getting this Used 7 bolt block (out of a running car!!) with the balance shafts removed(he ordered a kit). Just yesterday I tripple checked every single conection/sensor, and turned on the motor. All the timing marks are aligned properly. I remember using the knock sensor that came with the block(out of a 97 gs-t), and the part numbers were different??!!! Could it actually be a faulty knock sensor? I have also checked the compression out too it was 150 across the board. I start to give it a little throttle, and the car dies... If I let it idle, the car would only idle for about 15 seconds, and then die out? I could feel vibration while the car is in neutral.

Either the timing is off
Your CAS is 180 out or
Your wires are not hooked up to the coil packs correctly, double check the firing order
Oil Pump is out of alignment

Make sure the engine is TDC when you install the CAS

Just wondering if you figured out that problem ever? My 95 GST is doing the exact same thing and i'm reading a knock sensor code? Can someone help?

Sorry, it's not shaking, the MMs are all in good shape. The car seems to run high idle and shakes when I drive it down the road. I will push the throttle and it quickly bogs then surges like it gets some boost at that time. It will go through the gears.

the reason why my car would surge, it would be because of a bad IAC sensor(on the throttle body)... the engine shakes because of MY THROTTLE BODY PLATE/TPS is bad(when I give it throttle I don't hear the intake mani sucking up air)

my 90 was running like shit when i had a bad boost leak, turns out the pip from the MAS was off , so the car would run for like 15 seconds, then shake like hell and die, so check for boost leaks , but yeah the CAS 180 out would make it run like ass,,

I tested it for boost leaks and it wasn't holding, so I tested it right at the throttle body and it was leaking out all sides by the gaskets and the idle screw. Would I need to get new gaskets or maybe try some form-a-gasket? Would that make it do what it's doing? Also, i'm buying new couplers just to be on the safe side and i'll do another boost leak test after that. Also, do they have only metal gaskets or those kind of fel-pro like material like out head gaskets that mold to it when it's torqued down. Thanks guys.

150psi across the board is ok for a 1g with much lower compression. But not a 2g. Your cam timing could be off and would absolutely cause lower cylinder filling numbers at start up. Off cam timing can certainly contribute to your issue.

Alright, don't think that had anything to do with my questions. LOL. Maybe you posted in the wrong forum. Anyone?

My car shakes too, 97 gs-t no balance shafts, it does it under load around 2500 through 3500 and falls off by about 4k. Is that similar to what you're experiencing? YOu enver really described your problem except in your title so it's kinda hard to tell what kind of shaking it is..please explain teh shaking with some detail of when, how and what shakes when it happens.

I am hoping mine is just no BShafts and solid motor mounts as it's kind of mild but still noticable, i can watch it shake my rear view and left mirrors a little (but the left mirror has been loose for a while)

And what DSM-onster sad does pertain to your post, he's saying that the compresison is low for a 2g (95-99 car) and that the cams could be "off time" causing it, and that being off time can also make your motor shake.

My problem is about the same as yours. When I am shifting through gears. I will push it the throttle and it hesitates then surges and goes and runs really rough. I did a boost leak test and nothing so I did the test right at the TB and it was leaking through the gaskets and the back, which leads me to believe the shaft seal is bad, but it has marks on the screws like someone has taken it apart before, not sure. Also, I wasn't throwing any codes when I got the OBD scanner, then all of a sudden I got a knock sensor code at 2200RPM.

Could this make it run rough, all this added together? Man, I am used to working on Hondas, I mean I know a good amount about the 4G63s, LOL, but eclipses have lots of problems. can anyone help?

You need to fix your tb gasket and the the idle screw man! How do you expect to find a solution if you don't fix those air leaks first!!!!:nono:
