I recently swapped my brother's motor into my old Laser. Our problem is that we have absolutely no fire to the two middle cylinder's....2 and 3 I believe correct? The car and motor are both 90 models. We have switched out the coil pack with 2 other coil packs and no change. We also changed out the ecu with another one and no change. These parts came out of a running car btw. When the motor was in my bro's laser last year it cranked up and ran perfectly fine. Now it does have quite a few bolts on's and he was tuning with the translator and that is now zeroed out because he now has dsmlink. We haven't hooked up a laptop because the chip already has a base map tune to make the car driveable. We have also changed out the ignition module(transitor) that is located under the fuel rail near the came gears 3 times. We are at a loss for what is going on with the car. We checked out the wiring harness at the ecu and in the engine bay and every sensor is hooked up and nothing is torn or ripped in any way. The only mods to the motor itself are cams, cam gears, and no balancing shafts. We know it's a wiring problem but just have run out of ideas. No matter what we have tried those 2 middle cylinder DO NOT fire. If somebody has an idea or has had the same problem please fill me in. Thank you.

Well It seems like you have checked everything from the coil pack and back. How about the wries to the plugs from the coil pack are they seated on the plugs? Also have the plugs been gapped correctly? I would just double check that you don't have a short in your spark plug wires.

We haven't checked the cam angle sensor and we haven't changed the wires but will be checking those next I believe. When we removed the wires from cylinder's 2 and 3 there was absolutely no spark getting through that wire to the plug. The wires sat in the corner of my friend's garage under some stuff for a while so I'm starting to think that may be the problem even though they haven't been used for more than a month or so. They are Magnacore 8.5mm wires btw. Don't know if anybody has had problems with those going bad but we are just gonna run down to the part store and replace them to see if that makes a difference. Also, I gapped the plugs myself before installing them at 28 thousandths. After we knew there was a problem we removed the plugs and found that 2 were getting fire and 2 were not. We pulled the wires on those cylinders while starting the car and saw no change so we knew they weren't getting fire. I have extra cam angle sensors so I may try that after I change the wires.

its 4123 and thats not the problem they arent getting spark... are you getting an injector pulse? if you have a test light u can check... check all your grounds and try to wiggle the wires to the cam sensor. Also try swapping the coils around if possible the 1-4 coil for the 3-2 coil and see if its still the same coil or not that has the problem. If you dont have injector pulse at 1-4 i would suspect the ecu or cam/crank sensor.. but if you have pulse suspect coil/icm
