Swapped engine in my 98 eclipse gst :dsm: last week, have everything hooked up but wont start. We have power to 1 & 4 injectors but they won't pulse when cranking (2 & 3 injectors are good). The spark to 1 and 4 is less intense and less often than the spark in 2 and 3.

We have replaced the ECU, Cam Position Sensor, and the ignition control module.
We have tripled checked the timing as well. We have also had the coil packs tested and they are fine.

When we replaced the ICM the car started briefly (3 seconds or so) and then died out so we are back at square one.

Our next step is checking the wiring on the ECU.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

check continuity to every wire from the ecu harness and the wires to the engine itself look for resistance anywhere especially crank/ cam sensor.. Check all grounds, grab some jumper cables put both of the leads on the negative post battery and the other side one to engine and one to frame/body. Same motor or different? did you leave your old intake manifold on or the one that came with the motor? did you by chance bend the fins on the intake cam shaft sproket? im not sure which style cam sensor you have , could be on the camsproket or the other side of the head bolted to the head.. I would start with the continuity check with every wire from ecu harness end to engine end, if you have friends get one guy in the engine bay with you at the computer and going through wires 1 by 1 make sure no breaks in the wires cause its usually the case when a motor swap has occured . Have another friend wiggle the harness around while u guys are doing this. Im pretty sure the computer grounds the injectors so you will have power there always, but eighther the computer isnt doing its job or its not being told to. I'm pretty sure you have an issue with cam/crank sensor are the teeth on the crank ok? what style cam sensor do you have?
