Ok so I changed the brakes on my car and I have had the CEL on for a while, it a fuel trim malfunction, and when I took it out for a drive i noticed the boost was not sitting at 0 when i was not pressing on the gas or in neutral.

This one is cruising in third at about 45 miles an hour. Just coasting.

This is not normal is it? Does this mean boost leak?

no not normal at all. and i have the autometer gauge. it drove alot better before i let it sit for a week because of this light coming on.

If the car is running, that's perfectly normal.

Since the boost gauge is tapped into manifold pressure it will see engine vacuum, which is around -20 inHg at idle(many factors will change this) and will constantly change at cruise depending on pedal position, rpm, and load.

It should sit at zero when the car is off.

The boost gauge itself is off. If you subtract 2.5 psi(~5 inHg) from the other readings, you're pulling the correct amount of vacuum given the circumstances.

The only way to know for sure if you have a boost leak is by doing a boost leak test.

Ok thank you for your help. I just thought this meant a boost leak. Ill have to do a test then.
