Looks like CAPS part # 24076.

I looks to me like #24076 is on the other end of the center console area (towards the e-brake handle). The picture he posted looks like it'd be built-in to the shifter cable. He just has the protective boot pulled back. But I see nothing in CAPS about this part which is why I think it'd be part of the cable.

Yea I pulled back the boot and the rubber tubing. The rubber tubing does not secure in place since that silver piece is chipped on the top. The car will not go into any gear with the rubber tubing pulled back, but it wont fit in the piece so the car cant move. Ive looked on many diagrams and alldata and the diagrams dont give the part number so I cannot get the name of the part

soooooooooo... Did you go to a wrecking yard and find that part? I bet you could find it off of any 4g63 tranny thats from a 2g..

The only thing that ever surprises me about the dealership is how much they get over on me.. LOL.. I just try to avoid "the stealership" whenever I can.. ESPECIALLY for something this minute.. Try a few yards, and for sure try the dealership if you cant find it, but I can say for certain that if you find even a wrecked one, you can get all that stuff off for next to nothing.. Totaled cars are your best friend...

get anything that you can see that might need to be replaced.. Just look in your engine compartment for anything that needs replacing, or looks like it has more wear than you would like... if the cables look eff'd up, then get them, as they shouldnt be too much cash..

Like I said before, you wanna get everything you can in one trip.. The first trip is fun, but going back bites..
