fuel pump???

on my 91 gst sometimes when i turn it on it just shuts off, but if you rev it up it will stay on until you let off the gas then it stalls again... and at certain rpms the car seems to be sluggish is it the fuel pump? im guessing it has to be fuel system everything is stock besides hacked air can, air filter, and bcs removal

Could be the IAC causing the idling problems.

Has the fuel filter ever been replaced?

i dont know if it has ever been replaced, but ill replace it when i get a new fuel pump

Maintenance history ??? Other related or recent problems ? When you try to start it , is it dead sometimes but then starts a little later like nothing was wrong ?

the car has had the balance shaft removed, the car has a good maintenance history, but it will start right up then just shuts off, but if i keep the gas down it will stay on, then after stalling like 1-2 times it starts like nothing happened, and at some rpms (upper) it seems to be sluggish like it doesnt want to go usually around 65-70 + mph

Unplug your mas and try it . Any change ?

what should it do if i unplug the mas?

If your mas is bad it is not delivering the correct amount of fuel . Bad air readings = bad air/fuel mixture . It may stumble and dye immediately or it may run better . If better , I would say it was bad . Meaning the mas . If this is the case swap with a buddy if possible to be sure .

it will not work the n/t maf is short one wire at the connector so you will have to get one for the turbo motor
