I hear a loud leak from what sound like under the intake manifold. You can hear it standing 5 ft away. And ofcourse the car doesn't boost at all. Are there any vacumm lines under the mani? I checked the TB for I just switched out the 2g TB for a 1g TB. I took that off and got new gaskets and used rtv for that. It sounds like its in the middle of the intake mani but right underneath. How can I pin point that?

There are some on a 1G. Should be some similarity on 2G. You better off get rid of all the vacuum lines, EGR, charcoal canister, etc. Then bypass the remaining ones on the TB, unless you are worried about emisions.

Why would you be better of getting rid of all that? It is really not necessary and does not give you any more power or performance. Here in California it is much easier to keep all the vacuum lines, EGR, etc... hooked up. I would not recommend removing all the emissions stuff unless you really dont need it.

Like the last poster said, check the TB gasket and your intake mainfold gasket. Did you connect your brake booster line which is on the back of the intake manifold? If thats not hooked up, you will have one major leak.

I got confused on how to hook up the lines comming from a 2g tb to a 1g tb. So yea I took out all the solinoids, vacumn lines, plugged the tb ports, plugged the egr, took out the canister and capped off everything. But the loud leak was coming from one of the tb gaskets, it was too small and the bottom of the tb was leaking underneath the gasket. i got new gaskets and rtv and that sealed that leak up.

Now as for the other leak, you can hear it underneath the intake mani. instead of boosting at 3200 rpms, it is boostin at 4500 rpms. big difference. But anyway how do i check if its the mani's gasket?

Go do a boost leak test, get a bottle of soapy water and spray it around areas that can potentially leak, it will bubble up where it's leaking. Go pump some air into it, feel around and see if you can feel/see it.

There's really only a limited number of things that it could possibly be under the intake manifold. IM->head gasket, brake booster, egr, TB gasket(s), or you have a hole in your IM.
