ok here is my story. safc II stolen. Bought used SAFC II from DSMtuners user. Installed SAFC II, powers up fine and I can select all my settings except the type of sensor. It goes to the sensor selection screen but restarts the SAFC when I try and scroll down to a different sensor you will see this in the video. I had the camera aimed at my cluster for a bit in the beginning to get the idle surge on film but it was not acting up so ignore that part. The ecu does not get a maf signal with the SAFC II wired in and I am assuming its because it will not let me select the type of sensor. In the video the SAFC maf wires are not connected so that it will run. Mainly I want to know if there is something I am doing wrong or the SAFC II is screwed..

Double check all your wiring, especially your ground. Is there any chance you can get a hold of another SAFCII and see if it does the same thing, that way you can rule it out if it is the SAFC itself or something else.

One thing is you shouldnt have the motor running while you set your sensor type. Your key should just be on but not running. But i dont believe that will make it restart though.

I know this, however in this video it does the exact same thing with the motor running or not. I have double and tripple checked my wiring. I had an SAFC II wired in before and it got stolen but it worked fine and I installed this one the same way. I called APEXI and showed them the video and they said there is a problem with the controller and my wiring would not make that happen. Got another SAFC II coming. PITA!

a while back I spoke with spyderturbo007 and this is what he told me to do..

Brown wire to Pin #101 or 106 (Ground)
Black wire to Pin #101 or 106 (Ground)

* Note, the Brown wire has to be closer to the ECU than the Black wire. Also, you have to put them both on the same ground wire. For example, if you use Pin #101 then both the Black and Brown wires have to go on Pin #101.

Red wire to Pin #102 or #103 (Power)

*You'll have to check but, I think you need to use Pin #102 for this, because I think Pin #103 is energized all the time. Just hit it with a test light and see if it's energized.

Green wire to Pin #109 (Tach signal)

Gray wire to Pin #19 (TPS signal)

Pink wire to Pin #10 (MAS)
Orange wire to Pin #10 (MAS)

** You must cut the MAS wire and attach the Pink wire to the ECU side and the Orange wire to the vehicle harness side.
