Brampton,
hey guys, just looking for some input and opinion because you guys know it all man!! :)

so i just got my car back from mister transmission here in Canada, and they had to take my tranny out to replace the shaft going into the transfer case so in doing so they had to perform
major surgery ($1200 job) now when i got my car back the tranny was working fine with the case n all everything was A OK on that end BUT, my engine was bogging alot now, like my boost gauge wasn't even moving when i left the lot, i can hear it spooling and blowing off n everything else( my car is stock btw ) but it takes a good 2 - 3 seconds for it to even realize that im mashing the gas pedel and there is alot of black smoke coming from the exhaust...

what did they do wrong? im gonna take it back to them tommrow but i would like your guys advice as to what may have caused the problem...

thanks in advance...

It sounds like they were touching more than just the transmission. Nothing transmission related would cause anything like this to happen. It sounds like you're running too rich in the lower rpms, the turbo spools in leaner conditions, which would also explain the black smoke. It doesn't make sense though because you said your car is stock so it should be running near perfect. Let us know what the shop says when you get back.

i understand that nothing tranny related would lead to this but i was wondering that in the humpty dumpty process of taking apart and putting back together... did they foget to put it back together properly somewhere and if so, where did they mess up?

Check all your compressor hoses from the turbo and also check the small tubes on things like the BOV, Wastegate.

it could be that.

Remember that in the process when they have to unplug certain sensors and take things apart they could have left either something unplugged, or maybe you have a leak in a hose thus causing you to run rich????

Either way don't break your head for now, take it back to them and see whats up. If you can fix it with them, then let us know and we'll guide you through it step by step.

Keep us updated.

thank you so much you guys, i just really love my car and to see it drive the way it is right now just kills me. i knew you guys would be able to help me out i just want you guys to know i really appreciate your opinions. :) i will definetly keep yall updated after i take it back to the shop tomorrow.

no problem man, thats what we are here for!!!

Hey guys just givin an update on my situation... turns out they left some sensor unplugged and a hose so that was what was causing the boost leak.. they put it all back together properly and the car ran great again took them like almost 15 mins to fix the problem.
thanks again for all your input you guys were right. :)
