Hey, i just joined these forums.

I've previously been into probes (with other interests, i just like probes). My last car was a 90' Probe GT (turbo) and it was a fun car but i decided to sell it and get something else (2g probe/mx6, dsm, or something else interesting)

Well, i found a 90' Laser RS Turbo. it's near mint in and out and it's bone stock everything with 127k (on a probe that's not so much, but on a dsm i've been finding that they don't run for too many miles).

It has a new clutch (he said "high performance" clutch but he didn't specify anything else about it). He says it has a whole bunch of other maintenance parts recently done. And it's a really clean car in and out.

that's a pic of the car ^

I'm not sure if i want to buy it considering how high-maintenance they are (despite the quickness). But i can't see any problems with the car as it is now.

Just looking for some feedback, and i'm saying high to these forums, and asking for some specific things i should look at before i buy it.

Thanks

Its all about maintenance on these cars and they will do you well. I would go ahead and do balance shaft elimination and a new timing belt set right off the bat just in case.

Welcome to the forums! I hope that in the event that you buy the car, you thoroughly enjoy it. As far as things to look for... If its near mint like you say, then I would just go back and make sure the items he said were recently taken care of really were taken care of and go through and do your boost leak test and make sure that there arent any wires about to break.. that happened on my fuel injector connectors and they finally just desintegrated because the car had sat so long at the previous owners disgust with the car. Just your basic stuff to look for when buying ANY car... Theres my two cents, and good luck if you do decide to get it.

I'm not going to buy this one, he wants $2500 and won't go lower, it's a nice car but it's not 2500 nice.

I'll just keep looking i guess :)

Well let me tell you this. The cars will easily put down 150k miles. I have 151k with a 16g running 20psi...Someone on these fourms has 220k+ Miles on there race car. If you maintain the car. They will last forever...seriously.. Anyways goodluck on your next car. If you have friends don't let me talk you out of a dsm because how irrelieable they are. Its all up to you how you tune and how hard you drive her.
