i need to do replace a clutch in my 95 gsx. what would be some good add ons, upgrades while doing the clutch.

I would eplace the rear main seal if you don't know when the last time thats been done. If that goes, it will let oil all over your clutch disk and you will be doing a clutch job twice.

Maybe look into a lighten flywheel, I like the easier reving, and feel its worth the money. I peronally like ACT flywheels and do not like the fidanza aluminum becasue they can warm. But fidanza does have a replacable flywheel fiction surface. Just personal preference. I have a 7 bolt act flywheel for sale :sneaky:

As far as cluch disks and pessure plates, if you check out the ACT website it gives the each torque rating for each combo.

Street disks amke for great daily driving engament and will b nicer on the drivetrain becasue it slips as designed to. Sprung puck disks are also streetable and will have a hader grab to them, I have seen many cars with 6 puck sprung disks with no problems other than slight chattering. I would not recoment a unsprung puck disk because engagment is very harsh.

Also ajust your clutch after the install. There is a how to article in the tech forums about clutch jobs and everything inbetween. Give that a read.

95burgundyesi pretty much touched on everything but the pressure plate. Obviously this depends on your power levels and where you are driving also. a decent drivable combo on the 7 bolt that grips pretty will is a 6 puck sprung disc, and an ACT 2100 Pressure plate. The Pressure plate will make the pedal feel pretty close to stock, and still hold a good bit of HP.

Some people stray from the bigger pressure plates, because some theories suggest the extra pressure causes the thrust bearing to wear out prematurely, causing crankwalk. It may or may not be something you want to be concerned with, but having a 95 myself I have always considered it into the equation when deciding what to do with my 7 bolt. I thought I would just bring it to your attention, if you hadn't heard about it before.

Replacing the slave and master cylinders is definitely a good idea as chances are they will go bad shortly after installing an aftermarket clutch. A stainless steel clutch line is also a worthwhile upgrade, I picked mine up from ExtremePSI.

Black95awd, I should have mentioned that everything is stock except for a cat-back exhaust that i put on. turbo timer, turbo gauge, and some turbo piece that is plastic on 2g but was replaced with a metal 1g that was put on by previous owner. maybe it's called a bov but i don't remember. this is my 1st dsm since a 1990 non turbo laser 10 yrs ago. I'm a recovering vtec addict.

I would look around and see about getting a package deal on all your stuff. I know extremepsi.com does deals on clutch, pressure plates, TOB, and flywheels in the $500 range. I personally like Fidanza and the ACT 2600 pressure plate with an exedy clutch. That combo is very streetable and great torque capacity. Look around and see what your needs are then go just beyond that by maybe 5%-10% so you will be ok. Good Luck
