[RESOLVED] Dead battery = failed emissions?

Some of you may remember my saga that started w/ the fried alternator and dead battery. Well, got all that fixed, but now it fails emissions. The mechanic said that this is common and that just driving the car will fix it. Has anyone had any experience w/ this and how far do I need to drive it? As it is, I am a month past due on getting my tag. Thanks.

Welcome to the OBD-II nightmare. There are solutions, but you have some reading up to do. This thread began soon after I had to replace a dead battery.

haha darn you...I just read that thread about 3 days ago and went to find it. I found it came back and the OP of the thread beat me to it *sigh*.... But read through that thread it has a lot of good info for for the 2G.
