ok so i know there has been alot of discussion about the ebay FMIC kits but all i want to buy is the pipe, i have a evo 8 FMIC that i need to hook up and i just want to buy the pipe for it... what do you guys think

i got a complete kit fron ebay bar & plate kit the intercooler i love, looks like a good quality but for the piping they are kinda cheap ,but hey what can i say i haven't even installed it yet

I have been running an ebay core/piping and both work great for me. I had more than enough piping and couplers(welded mine together). The clamps were kind of garbage but they got the job done and have yet to blow off a pipe.

You can buy universial pipes on ebay, but it will be close to impossible to find hard pipes for a 2nd gen with an evo core. My suggestion is you buy one of the universal kits and alter the piping so it fits right for your applicatoin.

I got a good brand fmic from I guy in tow. I bought the universal pipe kit from ebay and had no problem routing it short style. I did however had to get rid of the cheap rubber couplers and hose clamps. I upgraded to silicone couplers and T-Bolt clamps. I think they might sell kits that come with the silicone couplers and T-Bolts tho.

Hey i am about to get an evo 9 FMIC and i am also trying to solve the piping problem. Could you PM me when you are gonna do it and give me advice on how you did it and where you got piping?

Thank you :dsm:

You can use any "kit" you need as long as it comes with the right bends.

TIG welding for the win.

I bought this kit and it arrived today...I'll see how it works out this weekend...

I would grab a kit that has 2 180* for the IC bends, then a couple 90* to get from the turbo and up to the TB, then some 45* to get it all perfect.

Exactly what I did for above....

Yeah...I now see all the bends are in the middle of the pipes which will make this universal kit universally hard to install... The 2" to 2.5" 90* reducing coupler I found locally today at PRE Racing in Portland will work well directly off of the turbo...that item is even a little hard to find on eBay.

Yea, you cant expect to buy a universal kit and just bolt it up. You need to cut the pipes to size and preferable weld them up or use a ton of couplers.

I use ExtremePSI now for my coupler needs ;)
