Heres my story. A few nights ago I was driving my 91' Talon AWD home..and I come up on where I have to turn so I go to down shift and POP..clutch pedal went to the floor and I couldn't shift in to any gears. Well the next day I called some auto places and they said it could be the clutch fork..clutch assembly etc etc.

Well I did get a place to fix it, they said a pin had came out of the clutch and it was fixed in a day. Well thats great..but I'm wondering of the long term effects of what this may have caused? What should I look for and be concerned about?

I have someone thats going to sale me a ACT 2600 clutch that has about 7 to 10k miles on it for 200 dollars. Is this a good deal or no? I think its important also that I note my car is completely stock except for intake pipe, K&N Filter, and free mods. I plan on upgrading injectors, turbo, exhaust, clutch, among other things in the future. So any advice that anyone can give me is much appreciated!!

Well it would definitely all depend on what "pin" popped out. I guess it could be something in the actual pedal assembly because theres really no pin in the clutch, not that I can recall either. So it could have nothing to do with your actual clutch and then you might as well use what you have till it wears or your power exceeds its limits. As for the ACT2600, you can look at the classifieds to compare prices but 7k - 10k miles isn't really a good description for a clutch because those could be extremely hard miles or nice and easy miles. You would have to get a good look at the clutch to see what type of condition it was in, and remember you usually get what you pay for.

Turns out it was the pin out of the master cylinder. So my clutch is fine...although for some reason now..my 2nd to 3rd shift and 5th to 4th is a little harder than it was before I had this problem. Thanks everyone for your replys.

Yeah, I don't know a whole lot about the internals of a master cylinder or else maybe I would have known, but it's good to hear it wasn't your clutch. I would say the best possibility that its a little harder to shift would be because bleed it enough after fixing the master cylinder. Theres quite a few threads over bleeding your master and slave cylinders. I would say it would be a good place to check because I doubt they messed with anything else that could cause it, but I know there is a adjustment up where the pedal goes threw the firewall. If it feels as if your clutch isn't engaging at the same place as it was before then you might want to look up the adjustment for that.

But you say its only shifting to 3rd and down shifting to 4th? Maybe try the others out see if theres a difference or any difference in the feel of your clutch pedal?
