I went down for emissions testing today and failed:

hc limit 150 mine 217 fail
co limit .8 mine .55 pass
NOx limit 1750 mine 1802 fail
it has a universal cat on it my egr is hooked up and so is the o2, in fact everything is stock anyone have any ideas?? Side note non of my lights on the dash come no check engine nothing but i have no oil pressure reading but i dont think that has anything to do with it, but im not sure

Did you run your car for a good 30 minutes first before you brought it to the smog place? The reason why I asked because it looks like you failed HC and Nox by a little bit. Also your car will not pass smog if your the check engine light does not come on and turn off when you turn the ignition into the ON position. You will need to get that fix first. Once that is fixed and you still fail smog due to high HC & NOX I would reccommend replacing your converter. Universal converters dont last long because of the cheap materials they use to make it. (recyclers will only pay $10-$15 for used universal converters and $40 and up for OEM, people here in Cali are even stealing them off cars & trucks due to high value)

i got the universal for free so im thinking it might be that

i read in some tread on here that you can use rubbing alcohol to help pass anyone in cali try that cause if it will work there it will work here sense your test is harder

oo and oem cats are worth 110 on the east cost in my town

You could check to see if your 02 sensor is reading correctly if you had a logger. I doubt its that though. Its more likely the cat. Ive even seen cats off ebay, that are "Universal" but have been gutted, so really it looks like a cat but has nothing inside of it. So if you did get the cat for free you may want to replace it

ya but i looked inside be for i put that one on and it had the stuff in it i just got back from getting some iso heet and a new cat so my plan is to put the new cat on in the morning and going back and trying again. If that doesn't work ill try the egr off my spare engine. If that still isn't work it will be Friday by then and ill have another check from work and go buy a new o2 sensor, and if that doesn't work ill put the old egr (the one on it now) go back. Then if it still isn't right that would only leave the egr then ill just have to buy one which sucks cause there like 226 bucks. And yes i put way to much thought into all that but i killed my old dd so my 93 gs is the new one. I like the swap though ;)

well good luck. dont waste money on an 02 sensor if you dont need one, because they are expensive little guys :)
