Worst thing is that you never know when it will happen again, most of time it drives just fine
But when it happens you could try as many times as you want for 10-15-20 minutes with no result, only then maybe it will just start and work fine again

I'm assuming you checked to see if you were throwing any codes but its sounds/looks like your IAC is going or is gone out but if it did it should have thrown a code..... So it starts up and if you dont give it gas it dies?

Have you even tried to fix/check anything like some people are telling you to do? There isnt just one magic answer your looking for. Your going to have to do a trial and error process. Also search idle surge and you should find all the advise you need.

Good luck.

Although the IAC motor was mentioned, I doubt that it is bad. With the IAC motor disabled (connector unplugged), the car would still idle with no problem IAC motor is to help with your idle when you put on your A/C to regulate the drop in idle.

If your check engine light stays on, you have a code. Check that first. Also, check the most common/visible vacuum hoses and couplers for leaks - from MAF to the throttle body. In the past, my BOV was leaking and when I rev the engine the car would stall or almost stall. So, check for leaks. You'll hear a hissing sound if there's a leak.
