Riding the clutch, too much force on clutch, improper installation. It looks like a 2100. Take a picture of that and send it in to ACT for quality control. I have never seen that happen on any clutch. Looks like the fingers just snapped off, no wear whatsoever.

+1 ^^^ what he said i would send it to ACT because that does not look normal, and see if they will give you another one, who knows you got nothing to lose. Even race car clutches don't fall apart like that.

its a act 2600 extreme and iv had it since September and me and my cousin (licensed mechanic) put it in and it ran great then one day bam!!!! idk and yeah i sent out the pp to them today so they can see it for themselves

iv never beaten on the car that bad a few burnouts and thats about it didnt even get to the track ### of my suspention not to mention i have no tires left. but just driven the car thats it. hopen to hear from act today see what they say but im def. not paying for that ### all the fingurs broke in the same exact spot and theres no wear on the fingurs... just a little where the throw out bearing is. idk weird as hell for sure?!!?!?

I am wondering if the pressure plate to flywheel bolt backed out and allowed the fingers to move outward...

How tight were the bolts when you took the PP off?

How about some pics of the TOB, clutch disk, and flywheel? How many miles are on this setup? Have any pics of the friction surface side of the PP?

i can get some pics of the fork and the bearing and flywheel. but all was ok not a single nick on them. as for the pp its gone to act, but good news called them up and they said they'd send a new pp out no charge to me. yess LOL but $50 for shippen : ( what can you do. but still have no idea y this happened.

oh and the pp bolts where still to speek when i took them off,,, i thought the same thing but nope alls good there to... but i did find out that act just changed the design of the fingers so they are stronger. go figure

I posted a reply on the thread my experience with ACT. You should check it out. I wouldn't use another Act if the were handing to me. You should really try Competition clutch they have a far superior product imo.:laser:

Looks just like my buddies 2100 on a lightly modded 2g. The The competition Clutch's have the springs almost completely encapsulated, to prevent this.:thumb::laser:

I saw a pressure plate break like that, the car owner would hold the cltch in at red lights the entire time the light was red. clutch didnt last very long again.

I just had that happen to me although it was not on a ACT. My tob failed in the worst way and tore about four fingers out of the pp.

That's funny we used to use all of Competitions clutches but all the springs kept falling out, then we shifted to ACT and we just had to replace a 2100 that 4 of the fingers broke off just like the ones it this thread. Unfortunately I'm glad to see that other people have the same problem. All of ours were warranted but that doesn't really help you for taking the tranny out over and over.

I know this is an old thread but I would like to add to it. I am now replacing the replacement of my ACT 2100 pressure plate. The fingers broke on the plate about a year and a half ago, I received my replacement from the company and now it is being replaced again for the same exact reason. I will never use ACT trash plates ever again. I had a fwd slightly modded.
