Have searched for this but haven't been able to find any information on it. Want to change my power steering fluid as part of a minor troubleshooting/maintenance session on my car. However, I'm not sure how to drain it from the system. Is it just a case of sucking it out of the reservoir in the engine bay, or is there a better way of doing it?

Thanks for any help you can offer me on this.

Pull it all out of the reservoir, disconnect both lines from the pump, put the return side in a pail, and blow through with your air compressor. I would run the pressure down to 5-10 psi. Refill and drive. If you are trying to get a good flush, do it again.

^ exactly.
But when you refill it make sure you bleed the system, you do this by starting the engine and taking off the resivior cap and turning the steering wheel from end to end about 12 times then put the cap back on.

^^^ To add on to what he said, do it with your front wheels off the ground. The factory procedure to bleed the system is different than the adapted "side to side" method.
