I know this has been beat to death, but heres the story. I have to make 300 WHP here in the next week. Reason is the people who I work with is nothin but V-8 loving 4cyl hating. Anyway I tore my tranny out and I have been working on my car alot, people at my work know this and just rag me. So i told them that i would make 300 WHP after it gets tuned when it comes off the jackstand,

What i dont get is that the E16g well capable of making that power but you dont see many making it. My tuner is pretty good and ill be able to get the dyno as long as I want. ( perks of knowing owners of a tuner shop).
Anything else i need to look into ?

Full exhaust, open it up and your top end power will increase significantly.

My friend DSM_POWER bought an ebay one that fit perfectly for about 200 shipped. I've seen it installed its nice. Works nice too!

Full exhaust and Fmic and you can definitely make that power. SSAC sells a fmic for cheap and has been pressure tested up to 60psi. You can probably get a turbo back exhaust for around $400, too.

what are you using as a boost controller?

If you have the money, the JMF SMIM is a good investment. I think that is about 500 bucks, and will continue to grow with your mods.
Also, like mentioned, a turboback exhaust, 2g's have crappy plastic BOVs, so get rid of that if you have not already done so, that way you can go over 12 psi...
Front mount intercooler is a plus, and also grows with mods.
I would say with these add ons listed, you would be at your goal.

yea i got a greddy type s, i must have been brain dead yesterday. I just dont get why so many people have the mods but cant get the power with this turbo?

well i think it could be done.


i have a 91 talon with my mods i have made 270whp/276wtq @ 16psi of boost on pump gas with more room to grow . my mods are 255lph fuel pump, b16g turbo, ported exhaust manifold, spearco front mount I/C, i gutted the convertor and cut the tailpipe off @ the pass side rear wheel. (i plan on a 3 inch set-up soon). I built and installed a MegaSquirt ECM and done away with the mass air sensor and installed a k/n filter in it's place.



where are you going to get it tuned ? I had mine tuned @ Turbo Tune in greensboro.

well i know im making 300 with my mods on my car and ive got a big 16 the only thing i see that might be an issue is the 660s with the safc it might be really hard to tune such big injectors with that im running safc2 with a maft it works good when the maft wants to work correctly
