Im just going to open a thread ! Cause im sure im going to have plenty of questions and everything along the way. As well as post pictures and such of the birth of my DSM.
I currently own and drive a 1999 galant, its a 4g64. The 2.4 ltr 4g63 basicly ;p
But i recently purchased a 4g63 motor, with 5 spd and the whole shifter assembly, and center console, the price was right !
Figured add to the collection .
Basicly here is whats going on. And im 100 % open to any sujestions...
The motor is N/A So basicly. im planning on building it .20 over. Putting Turbo Pistons + Rods In. installing oil squirters. Also i have an extra set of turbo cams laying around. anyone know if the turbo Cam + NA cams are any different from eachother ? Also, the N/A Motor is a 6 bolt, and the turbo cams i have, are from a 7 bolt. But one of the camgears are bent, so i would just swap the cam gears, and use the 7 bolt Turbo cams. As well as the 7bolt turbo valve springs. I heard all the internals are stronger metal. is this correct ? everything down to the valve springs ?
Im also portmatching the head, And polishing it. Switching out the stock N/A Injectors for Turbo grey tops for now. 275 CC's . Cause i only have a partial Turbo setup. Also i have a 60 mm 1g throttle body laying around. ( Basicly swapping all N/A Stock parts. With some stock parts + ACL bearings etc.. Some higher end stuff )
I was wondering a few things. How would my motor Run with Turbo pistons + Cams ? if i didnt have a turbo yet ? i was planning on building up the motor to handle boost someday.
Also. As far as the balancing shaft eleminator kit. I was wondering if this would work...
I cut the balancing shaft. Leaving a little numb. And i ground this down all smooth and everything. So basicly. you spin the oil pump sprocket. And the little 3/4 inch nub on the other side spins, is this VERY crutial to have the actual kit, with the little nub piece ? or would just cutting the shaft and griding the end down to a nub work ? Then of course get the sealer bearings to block the oil, and plug the block.
