Going To Be Runing 20 PSI.. Which Head Gasket?

hey guys I have came accross a 95 gsx with 660's and a afc.... It has no compression on 2 cylinders(1,2). Im not really worried about not having compression, I have used a MLS head gasket before and did not work.. tourqued the head that time to 80 lbs.

Im going to be using APR head bolts for this project, will a graphite hg work good enough to hold the psi im shooting for???

what do you guys recomend?
 
I run the stock head gasket. My stock 132,000 mile motor held almost 30 psi for quite a few runs and ran at 22psi for a long time with no problems.

As for the compression, get it fixed, dont half ass it.
 
The first thing you NEED to fix is not having compresssion. There's not a head gasket n the world that's going to fix a blown motor, so take care of that issue first, then worry about the head gasket when you're putting the motor back together. Buy a Cometec HG, i've seen them go a long ways, but there may be something better out there that some one will chime in with.
 
I would go with the MLS HG, Lots of people use it in combo with those arp's works awsome. Just make sure that your head and block are all in good order. When you used the mls last time did you have your head surfaced?

no, haha.. I thought that the head was 100% since the car never overheated. Im going to look that combo for 155... sounds pretty good will 100lbs work or should I tourque the head further more?
 
mls mitsu headgasket + arp headstuds = badass combo!!! mine has seen high psi by accident a couple times with no problems.
 
If you are only going to be running 20psi, go with what is tried and true, OEM mitsu composite. I'll be running that this year, but closer to the 30psi mark. It's less than an mls, and you don't have to get the block redecked if you don't want to pull out the entire engine. Just my .02
 
Exactly what I did about 3 weeks ago. Head redecked, OEM mitsu gasket (I think I got mine from slowboy or extremepsi), no copper spray, ARP's torqued to 90 ft/lbs. I figure this should be a pretty solid setup. When you take off the head, make sure you clean the block really good, reguardless of the headgasket. Good luck and have fun!
 
Im going threw a build right now I ordered a cometic multi layer hg with the rubberized coating and arp head studs from extreme alond with a topline kit for the misc gaskets and seal. acl race bearings and eagle rods wiseco 9:1 standard bore in a 99 block <-- made without oil squirters for some reason. so it should be a nice little car with some 272's meth and 114octane. but I opted for the cometic new design simply because i've seen people use the stocker with high boost and run into issues. the cometic and arp combo was only 165 from extremepsi.com.. just call and when it goes automated dial ext 111
 
im thinking the guy blew the head gasket because its two cyls that are next to each other that have NO compression...(he put oil in them, and nothing..) so if its not the HG then the head would def need a valve job :). He said he got a JDM 7bolt motor put on it about 18K miles ago.. from which car do you think it will be from? EVO3?
 
For that boost level there is no reason to not use the stock OEM one with ARP studs. I ran my EVO 3 at 23psi for one full season and my hx-35 at 28psi for another season and haven't had any issues.
