I need a wideband 02 kit to effectivly tune my car. ive heard that plx is good and accurate than others and i heard that alot of people like the aem kit? but someone else told me they arent as accurate.

if any of you guys have any thoughts or good experiences with a good model that i could get that would be great.

thanks.

Most of the "top name brands" are fairly identical.

1. Most all have a +/- 0.1 AFR tolerance
2. Most start at 9 or 10 /1AFR (decide how low you need) and go to 18 or 20 /1AFR (decide how high you need).
3. Most can be had with or without a gauge (I log through DSMLink and do not use a gauge).

I personally use the PLX SM-AFR which has a range of 10-20/1AFR. DSMLink has no issues with it and tuning is really nice, especially with a 3.3BAR GM MAP wired in as well.

Like FORMONTOYA said, pretty much all of them will work about the same. Pretty much depends if you want a gauge type display, a box that displays(NGK AFX), or even no display. Personally i have a NGK, but any of them will suite your needs. Good luck!

There have been lots of threads about this. Do a search, it must have been only about 2 weeks ago when there was a several page thread of everyone weighing in on what they liked and why.

i did search. i searched wideband 02, wideband 02 kit, best wideband 02 kit to get, and they all returned almost the exact same results...on how to install an 02 sensor, or how to wire an 02 sensor or how to tune it.

Not to steal the thread but I have had some questions about a wideband too. Can you just buy the sensor and install your own gauge. I am trying to keep the guages the same and was wondering if the carbon fiber autometer gauge will hook up to the wideband. Its says on the website that it will work with factory narrowband but nothing about the wideband.

Sorry about that, the thread was hard to find since it doesn't have wideband or O2 in the title.

Oh and I personally think the Zeitronix with the ZR-2 gage is the best setup. I love the added features like the warning box and it's logging capability.

AEM UEGO FTW...

As mentioned you have to consider on the swing of the gauge (goes from 11.0 - 17.0 on the AEM) Alot of DSM'ers shoot for 11.0-11.5 A/F ratio.

I love the looks and functionality of it. Well known, You've got the different faceplates and bezels, digital readout, pac man lights ( :D )

Yup, I have. Check out the site, its 14Point7. Thats actually one of the next things on my list. If you can use a soldering iron you can buy the kit and assemble it yourself for fun/to save money. The kit with display and un assembled is only like $70, plus about $60 for a wideband o2 sensor, and I think you should figure another $10-$20 for making a box and the wiring harness deal. Still though, thats $150 tops for a perfectly capable wideband.
