I was making sure I have all the parts I need to eliminate my balance shaft. I've ordered all the parts I need per vfaq received them just the other day. I was browsing a couple of vendor sites and noticed something. I found these two kits available.

Looking at the pictures, they are basically the same parts, except in kit 2 there is an extra block off bearing? Does anyone know what that one is for? I have never performed the balance shaft eliminator kit before. I am about to do mine as I have all the parts already, but I need to know if the extra part in kit 2 is something I should get. Part number? What is that extra part for? Thanks.

there should only be a rear and front blockoff bearing, stubby shaft, and front balance shaft plug. I don't think you will even use the other bearing. remember to use locktite on the stubby shaft and grey RTV silicone on the front balance shaft plug.

For some reason the idiots at Street Tuned Motorsports felt the need to give you a bearing for the rear balance shaft. Of course that bearing doesn't need to be touched, but they gave you one anyways.

Yah, there's no oil coming through the block for the rear of the rear shaft. The oil comes through the shaft itself straight from the oil pump which is at the front of it. When you replace the rear balance shaft with the stub shaft there is zero reason to put another bearing where the stock one is. It won't be used and it doesn't block off an oil passage.

Now the more complete kits should have a replacement collar for the balance belt sprocket. Someone sells one kit like that...can't remember who though. I ended up buying the parts I wanted separate (the plug and the collar) and doing the rest myself.
