I recently changed the rear axles and put the dss ones but the abs light came on, what do you guys think?

Do the rear axles have abs rings on them that you were supposed to swap over? If not you probably hit one of the abs sensors and now need to replace it.

First let me start off by saying I'm not familiar with 2g ABS.. BUT, my experience as a tech has taught me a few things.

It is a common problem for chrysler vehicles to set abs lights after axle swaps because there are so many different options and some reman'ed axles ordered can be mistaken for the correct part but it will have too many teeth on thier exciter wheel (located on the CV shaft) obviously every rotation your car is going to think its going faster than it really is because its sending an electric pulse 60times instead of 50 like all the others, this will cause an excessive variance code to set. Although I'm not even sure if the rear on a 2G uses the exciter wheel after all.

Other than that, All I can say is check the obvious, check to make sure the ABS WSS is plugged in, clean and not broken.

i did swap the rings over the new one and i don't think i damaged the abs sensor when installing it.

I am willing to bet that you need a new sensor from hitting it. You don't have to hit them hard at all to break them internally after getting old. Have a shop check to see why it is on. Some will check it for free.
