Ok I have a 7bolt 2g auto gst engine slung a rod hard, after being stranded for 4 hours in alabama (i live in florida) then getting a ride to uhual and renting a truck and dolly and towing the car with me and my girlfriend back to florida I was about 2 seconds to selling the car and saying screw dsm's after this experience. We'll I talk to a buddy and im just gonne throw another engine in it and keep it. problem is what do i do for the cheap, is there anyway I can use a galant sohc 2.4 shortblock with a 2g head? what are my options i've only been into the dsm world for a month as of tomorrow. I was thinking of just buying a 4g63 7 bolt off of ebay and doing the balance remover kit a timing belt and poly mount inserts and dropping it all in maybe with a set of cams. im just trying to do something on the low so a 2.4 lower end is cheap for me my buddy has a 94 galant I canhave the engine from for $50 running what do i do any advice is greatly appreciated.

well a buddy of mine just spun his rod bearing in FL, now he's looking into a 6bolt full swap. a shop in the ocala area told him around 2300 for a motor with around 20k, price includes labor and all. dont give up on the dsm's! :thumb:

Just go 6 bolt. if you can pull and install a 7 bolt u can do a 6bolt. read the tech article at magnus motorsports and youll see how easy it is.

Does your block look like this? LOL Im in the same boat right now. If your going to do the labor I would recommend a 6bolt install. If your going to pay for the labor I would recommend finding a 7bolt and just "replace" the old engine. Either way its going to cost you money to fix your problem. As far as a different engine install I dont think you will have much luck.

i'd like to try and find someone with a spun rod 7bolt or a crankwalk 7 bolt cheap and do a stroker build for the price of a stocker and just bolt it in and go..:thumb:

Late one night I was driving home and boosted through 3rd gear when the wastegate actuator signal hose fell off and I overboosted around 30psi with a stock fuel system. Advice for any dsmer, make SURE the wastegate actuator signal hose is secured!
