one of my buddys was actually one of the first to do this about 5 years ago. it puts your air filter in the stock ic location giving you really cold air.
you have to block off the fender vent where your stock ic drew in cold air but thats not hard at all. i recommend if you do this to get a pre filter cause it will soak up more condensation and moisture the pre filter helps eliminate this. it made a huge difference for him especially on hot days. you can make one yourself if you got an intake pipe you basically just need a 90 and a piece of straight to make it work.

Hmm. Ok. Were you just posting because you can do it cheaper, or to let people know or because you have one??

no no i just saw it and had read some posts on here about how there isnt a true cold air intake for 1g turbo cars and thought this would be something good to throw up here for people to see.

Thanks for the post Rob! This is a system that we offer that isn't nearly as nearly as popular as our intercooler kits but is a great solution for colder pre-turbo temps. With a good intercooler 10 degrees really only translates to about a 1 degree difference in temperature at the throttle body, but it does make a difference and makes it easier on MAF cars to get great timing advance. If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask!

Please dont drag up old threads, the last post before yours was well over a year ago.

To quickly respond, you need to leave the maf plugged in, no matter what. Other than that, just go buy a intake pipe kit with couplers, cut the pipes to whatever length you need and attach to the maf and filter at the end. You can go whatever route you want. Have fun with it.
