does pocket logger tune the engine like dsm link? and is all the software needed included with the cable?

No, it is not a tuning device. It just lets you see what's going on "in the car's mind". DSMlink lets you do that but also provides a tuning capability (if you have an eprom ecu). And if you buy pocketlogger, it comes with the interface (cable) and software (you download the software). I think they can toss in a PDA, but I'm not sure; I bought my PDA on eBay refurbished.

NO. It logs the engine from the OBD port. Its to keep track of timing, 02 voltage, knock, rpm amongst other things. Its also to let mechanic kittah know....
