I just bought an old red 1990 Talon AWD dubbed Eva. The body is in acceptable condition, but the head is busted, alot of shit ripped out of the motor bay, the rear window miper and motor is gone, no ECU(looking for use one!), no head cover, and none of the turbo piping or oil lines. The turbo is there though. He said it shifted good(Im hoping). I haven't took the head off yet so I dont know whats wrong. This is the shell, or the project.

I also have a baby blue 93 Talon ES. the block is pretty much junk, but has everything else. I also have a pair of crane power max cams, im not quite sure on the size, but they are the biggest stock retainers would allow. I hoping the head is still good off this car(it might have a nick on the surface). Is it hard to bolt a 7 bolt head to a 6?

You mentioned the head might have a nick, depending on how bad the nick is take it to a repair shop and have it plained and that should eliminate the nick. But no matter what i would have it taken to a repair shop and plained, because if you dont it is an easy way to take out a head gasket fast if the head surface isnt even, or if the head is slightly warped at all.

I have had the head decked once, so clearance would be an issue... So I would have to redrill the block to use the 7 bolt head? Sounds like a bi***.

One of my main concerns is the ECU, which I dont have. I want to run an engine management system like pocketlogger or something. Anyone know of an ECU/management system combo, or a management system that replaces the computer? Funds are limit here...

For the ecu your best bet of finding one is on the site's classifieds section. I have only found one turbo ecu out of the three large u-pull its I go to and this was searching for over a year. As for tuning there is a program called DSMap which replaces the MAF sensors with MAP sensors for measuring air, this would also let you fully adjust timing and fuel on a laptop, only costs $260 and you can vent your bov with it. DSMap is the best bang for the buck.
