I thought it might have been compressor surge at first, but whenever I accelerate, I get flapping. I was able to locate where the sound is coming from though. It sounds like a compressed air tank is charging up underneith the hood near the driver side, top corner. I am pretty sure that is the area making the sound. Thanks for the help.
PS: Sometimes on a random, it will not flap like that.

I def. think it is a flapping. I think it would be almost to light in sound and deepness for it to be a knock. If that makes any sense. It sounds like it is coming right around the alternator and power steering pump. Could it possibly be an exhaust leak on the o2 housing?

to tell you the truth, i dont really know. I havent really pushed it, my mechanic is tearing my car down again b/c I believe my balance shaft is off. I get a big vibration at 3k so I dont really take it past that for now. I just know this flapping is ridiculous. I am really thinking maybe it is an exhaust leak. UGHH

Does rate of flapping match your RPM, your speed, or stay consistent?

If it's RPM, check your belts, pullies, power steering, alternator, water pump.

If it's speed, check suspension, wheels, and powertrain components post transmission.

If it's consistent, check for stuff like your fans and er...I'll have to think to come up with more. It's early. :p
