bad flywheel? starts but...

Okay, sometimes when I start the car, The starter would just turn and not turn the flywheel with it or it does but it wont crank it. sound like the starter is stuck and all you hear is screatching sound. After a couple times I try to start it, then it starts. (1 long screatch, then off then start it again then it starts) Could this be due to a bad Flywheel or the starter getting stuck?

I would replace the starter for thing.

Look through the inspection plate for the flywheel if your missing teeth on the flywheel. Also pull the starter and bench test it.

Sounds like your solenoid in the starter has bit the dust.Try replacing it like said above. Be sure that the starter gear is meshing with the flywheel good

Yesterday, I noticed that before I turn the ignition switch to start it, The RPM would bump up upto about 1500rpm.
