Ok well it started with a blown head gasket, the car ran but the head gasket didnt look to healthy, so i brought the car to my work took the head off and sure enough the head gasket was broke between the water jackets, so i got a new metal head gasket and i have a jdm 6 bolt head sitting around so i figured id clean it and use it, the cams, lifters and all that stuff were still in the head, i sprayed the head down with pink stuff "cleaner" and washed it off, i then sprayed it again and let it sit over night and then washed it again and then i put the haed back on the car. when i went to go start it nothing. so i checked made sure i had spark and fuel, and then checked a few other things and everything was fine, so then i moved on and did a compression check, 1st cylinder goes up to 50 and goes back down to zero, it didnt hold it, 2nd went to 100 and back down to zero and wouldent hold it, i didnt check 3 and 4 but what would cause this? water in the lifters or something maybe?

with the engine warm put a teaspoon of oil down each cylinder before you check it if it goes up its the rings if it stays its the head that will eliminate any questions

How would you be able to warm the engine to do the compression test when it won't run? I understand its now fine, but that was the earlier advice.
