loud grinding from trans. upon starting

when i first get in the car and press the clutch there is nothing until like 2 inches from the floor,then i pump it and it feels good but still when started grinds trying to put it in 1st and wont go but grinds and goes into second but now upon starting a loud grinding noise is coming from the trans,, something loose?

Throwout bearing on your piolet shaft must be bad if its not disenguageing

Try bleeding the clutch, check and see if the master and slave is good. If it all checks out than it is in the clutch itself and I would replace it.

try starting it with the car in first and clutch depressed of course if it does your clutch might be going too

Sounds like a TOB to me, plus needing to bleed.
