Possible new suspension.

My car is lowered like 3 inches and the camber really sucks. My car handles just fine at low speeds but at speeds of above 50 it gets all weird. On the highway the littlest bumps make my car jump a bit and sometimes the wheel feels like its jerking to the left or right. I was thinking about getting a new set of shocks and struts but then i read that it could be my camber that is messed up. I dont want to but new shocks and struts and a camber kit to find out all i needed was a camber kit.
 
I would start with the camber kit and a alignment,especially if the car is lowered 3". More than likely everything is out of spec.
 
The only thing is i dont want to spend $200 on a camber kit and have it end up being the shocks and springs and i could have saved money by getting shocks that raise it closer to stock
 
Unless the shocks and springs are actually malfunctioning, the likely problem is the alignment (including camber and toe). If the suspension system you are using does not include camber adjustment then you will need to buy a camber kit.

If you don't want to spend the $200 for a camber kit then the other option is to spend at least $800 on a decent coilover set that has the camber adjustment capabilities.

This really sounds like it's your alignment and there is nothing you have said that suggests it is your suspension components. Do you notice any unusual wear on your suspension parts, like rubbing on one side of the shock piston?
 
Yeah you need an alignment badly. A 3in drop will throw everything off, alot. Hell even a 1.5 in drop will need an alignment. Also, how are you getting a 3in drop on springs and shocks, for that drop you would have to have coilovers?
 
I dont notice any kind of rubbing at all. I dont mind buying a new suspension i just dont want to buy a suspension to find out all i needed was a camber kit. Or buy a camber kit to find out i still need a new suspension.
 
I just had an alignment. It may not be a 3 inch drop exactly but i can only get like one finger in between the wheel and the fender
 
Was this alignment prior to the drop or after? If a place performed an alignment and didn't mention that the camber is about 15 degrees off, I would probably demand my money back. A 3" drop is a world of difference and unless there is something that is offsetting that camber then your inside tires will be wearing quick.

The sudden change in direction with only a slight change of the wheel is likely from your toe-in, where the front tires are slightly further in at the front than toward the back. This will make for great slow handling but can be a bit tricky on the highway. If you do mostly highway driving then you should ask for a more straight cross toe (total toe-in).
 
I just bought a set of tein s techs which should raise the car a bit. If i need a camber kit after that ill def buy one.
