Congrats on getting it out in the crappy weather.

What do you all have planned for it?

What do you all have planned for it?

Evo 3 4G63. I was going to do a whole evo3 set - evo16g, evo 3 manifold (already ahve it), evo3 manifold, and evo3 o2.

The only thing will be a 20g and a different manifold most likely.

Yippi! You guys work in nice looking clothes..and still keep it clean.

haha we try :p (those were my friends, you should of seen my jacket)

I sold that engine with everything except intake mani for $500 so the turbo went with it.

Um i'm going 20g anyways and the evo3 wont be coming with the turbo sadly =[ just the longblock and intake mani. =]

Man I'm so glad I have a garage for my swap!

Good work though. Grab some mechanix gloves and it'll make life a lot better!

Also for a second there I thought you pulled everything with the axles still on and was like wtf.

I was going to buy them, but I said whatever I rather just get my hands greasy and oily :D

Anyways, the axles from the passenger side still stayed on the tranny. It was stuck in there and I didn't want to bother with it. It caused no problems then it was being lifted so it saved me some hassling anyways.

nice, i did mine outside, but that was in the summer LOL. a bit cold now to do it (last night was -13 LOL). Now mine sits covered till spring. Good luck, Im thinking of going 20g my self (if the funding permits)

yeah today was -10 this morning because of the windchill factor.

Yeah if the funding permits i'ts going to have a 20g

first it cleaning up the engine bay and get it all rewired and painted.

This is the time to actually do some cleaning on the engine bay...i totally agree on that one. I wish i could do it to mine if the weather permits, but then again there's no reason for me to take the engine out just yet. BTW $500 bucks is cheap for an engine in my opinion.

BTW the other car you had, the RED TSI...i've seen in a couple of times around lawrence driving by...looks nice.

haha that was a long time ago. It was a ESi which is why I sold it, but it still looked nice.

Yeah especially with the turbo and new water pump. =[
I felt bad because the kids traveled from outside boston twice and never got the engine because the weather was just crappy. So I took money away for gas and the time they had to wait

Lucky dog. ;[ I was thinknig about getting those tarp tents and bringing in a heater to warm it up, but idk if it was going to be worth it. It wold of kept us a lot warmer!~!

You should man...you can pick the tent garage up at pep boys cheap, and grap a nice 30000 btu heater.Trust me, you are MUCH more productive and efficiant when you are comfortable and warm.I just got my heated garage in nov and I dont know how I worked out side for the past 10 years!

i did the same thing, only leaving the driver side cv joint in the car. When I disconnected the engine, i first dropped it down and slid the transmission/t side into the passenger side wheel well and popped the driver side axle out. saved me from having to replace another ball joint. those things are a pita.

Especially when the weather freezes them in there! You'll have to be careful about not breaking them, nut then again if I do no reason why to just get something new ^.^

I don't reall want any shortcuts this time around with my car.

Since the engine is out I'm leaning more towards getting the engine bay painted black and rewiring.

Then getting the new engine hot tanked and ported etc with the head and a valve job.

Or do you guys think I should do something else?

What is your plan with your car? is it going to be a show queen or a street monster? BTW it wouldn't hurt to do some cleaning on the engine bay or the engine itself.

Must be different for you FWD guys. Everyone I've heard from says both axles need to come out on AWD to get the motor/trans out.
