Can you make a Non eprom ecu to an Eprom ECU by just putting in a socket then the chip? Or is there more to it. If that is possible then i can do it at work...i got everything to convert it. Thanks!

While it is possible to socket an eprom ecu once you remove the eprom from the board, there is no way to socket a non-eprom ecu because it doesn't have the eprom circuitry in the first place. It's a totally different unit.

Now if you're possibly talking about socketing an eprom unit that's a non-turbo ecu, that's a different matter entirely. A non-turbo ECU that is an eprom unit can be socketed, but using it in a turbo car would be inadviseable because it will be lacking certain circuits that are needed to support the turbo even though it will support a chip change. BTW, I'm talking about a 1G NT 4G63 ecu here; the 4G37 ecu is a totally different animal.

Finally, if you're talking a 2G ecu, the non-turbo unit is a completely different part from the turbo one. It could even be an eprom ecu, but the 420a ECU will not run a 4G63 & vice versa. You'll need to hunt down a 95 turbo ECU that is an eprom unit if you're wanting to chip a 2G.

Hope this answers your question.
