All my current mods are in my profile. I had bought abunch of mods in fall and I had gathered that 550's would be good because of the 16g, the 2gmas and the SAFC could handle it. Well now to come I'm being told I should've bought 650's in the first place. SO before I make this mistake again I'm going to post the list of parts I'm purchasing between today and june 1st. Because without a doubt I am Motivated to make this car run no matter what its going to take and no matter how much overtime I'm going to have to work.

So now I'm looking into.

650 Injectors
ACT 2600 Clutch+flywheel package from Extremepsi
Debating between Nitto 555 or BFG KDW for my new rims.
Shocks/Springs again undecided but seeking performance but not w/ extreme cost
I'm getting a 255HP pump+FPR from a chitown guy foe $150
Fuel filter
FP2 Cams
New sparkplugs
Forge diverter valve
Carrier Bearing( I have a howling noise around 60mph)
Boost controller(Manual or electronic?)
Timing Belt(suggestions?)
Accessory belts
Pocket logger?
MLS headgasket
ARP headstuds

I'm shooting to be able to run 20psi with my evo3 and then next winter I will rebuild the engine to handle more. I dont really plan on shooting any higher than the mods stated above and in my profile. I would rather do small things from then on out to make the car more reliable and fun to drive.

You've got a good list of stuff you need to get, but what's your budget for the project? I've listed the parts that we've seen work very well here, if you need more info or pricing, let me know.

650 Injectors (I'd go with the PTE injectors, they are inexpensive and work great)
ACT 2600 Clutch+flywheel (make sure you get the organic disc)
Debating between Nitto 555 or BFG KDW for my new rims. (I'd go with the KDW, they last a bit longer)
Shocks/Springs (the best combo for the street and drag strip would be the Ground Controls and Koni Sport shocks, for the price, there's nothing better)
I'm getting a 255HP pump+FPR from a chitown guy foe $150
Fuel filter (go with stock)
FP2 Cams
New sparkplugs (make sure they are NGK, and the proper heat range)
Forge diverter valve
Carrier Bearing( I have a howling noise around 60mph)
Boost controller(Manual or electronic?)- truely personal preference, again, depends on budget)
Timing Belt (I'd go with the Greddy Kevlar timing belt, they are much stronger, last longer, and it's one less thing to worry about)
Accessory belts
Pocket logger?
MLS headgasket
ARP headstuds

I hope this helps...

I have alot of money to toy around with. Especially since my bills are related to credit cards and my Mazda6. I Know all together I'm looking at easily 3-4k worth of stuff, Most of which would be funded by tax returns and the rest with the 800 that is leftover every month. I've heard good about the Kevlar timing belts, yet alot of guys I've spoken to personally tell me they arent much worth it for the money.

:beatentodeath: If you plan on doing a lot of upgrades in the future, I would highly recommend DSMLINK instead of SAFC/Pocket logger. When you do your "larger" upgrades next year, you can have more control of which route you choose to take. I had MAF-T/SAFC and since going with DSMLINK, I could not be more happy.

I understand that it is not always possible to make a long term goal, and sometimes you need to make baby steps. You seem to be on the right path. Good luck.

x2 on DSMLink, I have it now and it's great. In your list I didn't see:

Rewire kit for upgraded fuel pump (so you don't get that whine ugh so annoying)
AFPR

Suggestions:
If you are taking the cams out maybe looks into the 3G revised lifters?
Stick to MBC, save yourself a couple hundred dollars and be good for over 30psi

Yeah I've heard this plenty of times, Basically I want to have it driveable. If it has to sit this year too then i would rather junk it because I feel like I'm almost to that point in my life where I'm ready to get serious and save up for a house and whatnot.

When I bought the car I didnt realize the extent of some of the problems, I bought mods that weren't even supported but now I'm working at getting everything solved. All I've really had were cars that started torn apart and modded up and right before they were finished they got parted out or sold. This one will be finished no matter what. Even if I have to cut a corner and use a SAFC until winter and get a DSMlink then

... I tried, your decision. I'm not saying your wrong, but if you have bigger goals down the road, I see it as a waste upgrading your fuel system twice. I've done it more than 3 times, and if I look back I see a bunch of money I could have saved. Buying and selling every few months, you really loose a bunch.

Good luck on your project and see you around, c4.

Well I have the SAFC already, I wont be spending any money on the pocket logger since I found someone to let me borrow theres for tuning.

It makes more sense now. I was under the impression that you didn't have it yet. :D

Well, you know where I stand in the distant future with your upgrade, haha.

Does anyone else have any input or advice as far as my choice between these 2 sets of tires? I'm currently leaning towards the KDW.

As the car sits. It has some peeling crap ass stock talon rims mistmatched they arent all the same type, with like 2 or 3 different tire brands. So everything is mismatched along with the fact they are all worn and beginning to dry rot at the sides. I just bought a set of 17inch Advanti Phase1 rims off a Chitown member for 80 bucks. I was going to get them cleaned up from any scratches and have them powdercoated black. If you have a better suggestion for a tire that may better suit/fit my application then speak up.

What is your application? I have had the BFG KD as a summer tire with no complaint except for the price-to-wear ratio was a bit high. But definitely handled and gripped very well and not too bad in the rain either, would buy again but out of my current budget. For this summer, I will be picking up a set of Kumho MX's and hopefully pick up some Blizzaks for my spare wheels before next winter. Would you be able to mount winter tires on your stock wheels and summer tires on your new wheels, like this? Or do you want an all-seasons?

I would suggest against all-seasons, "a jack of all trades is a master of none"? I had the Nitto 555 on my 240 and I thought the dry traction was terrible for summer tires and the wet traction was even worse. Of course, this was rwd vs awd, but why sacrifice any wet traction for sub-par dry traction? I would never buy those tires again, but I definitely would not rule out the 555R(Nitto Drag Radials) again after I buy some spare 15in wheels for the strip. With so many new drag radials out, I would have to do some research though. But I don't think you are looking for DR's on the street.

The above tires I have either owned (Nitto 555, Nitto 555R, BFG KD) or in the process of purchasing (Kumho MX). Tires that I have no experience with and don't currently plan on buying, but have heard good things are as follows, in no particular order: Kumho ASX (all-season decent all around), KDW (that you mentioned), Bridgestone RE750 (pricey), Yoko Advan Neova AD07 and Bridgestone RE-01R (summer tires that wear fast and are pricey, don't think you need this much tire).

My suggestion is actually what I plan on doing for myself. Kumho MX's on your new wheels and mount some snow/winter tires on your old wheels.

Well to clarify I own a 2004 Mazda6 Sport so winter tires won't be needed. I have the Kumho ASX on my Mazda and I love them so far. The Talon is the summer/weekend car which is why I'm asking. I just want some nice handling tires/ good for traction.

I am going with the Kumho MX for the summer, no personal experience but have heard a lot of positive feedback. I would hate to suggest something I haven't tried myself, I definitely would not get any all season. So I think you should do some research on those (Kumho MX) vs KDW vs KD and decide for yourself, but I have already made my decision. Goodluck with your decision. Let us know how it goes.

DSM LINK! I think you will thank yourself later.
DSM link is coming in the fall/winter. If you didn't notice I have alot of maintenance parts on my list which will drain up alot of my money. For now I will do my maintenance which most will be upgrades anyways such as the suspension/tires and whatnot. Then Once I can actually drive it and I have some fun with it over summer, I'll see where I'm at and what else I can/want to do after summer is over.

I was looking into KYB AGX/Eibach suspension, although I'd like a little more drop. I'll have to see.

Also does anyone know where I can find a IAC? When my car warms up it dies on deacceleration.
