I just recently got the gst spoiler for my 99 gs and i went to get esiments on how much it would be to put on and the guy quoted my 600 becasue he saud that there could be holes ion the middle and the quarter panels becasue of the stock spoiler that i have on it already, but he said he wasnt certain if it was botls or it could be double sided tape. So i know that there could be someone here taht would know if there is tape or bolts, and advice on what i should do. i dont want to pay 600 just for a spoiler...:(
:dsm:

They are held on by fasteners. You could get some bondo and paint and try doing it yourself, or check around at other places. Get someone elses opinion on price. 600 seems a bit harsh for that, but prices differ by area.

so either way im going to have to pay a lot of money unless i fond someone to do if for cheaper...so it has fasteners. what are those? apparently they leave holes am i correct?

Yes, the fastners hold the spoiler down by going through the hatch.

Did you only get a price from one person? like I said, check around. Just because he says 600 doesnt mean that that is the price everyone will want.

well not to bust you bubble but yeah there are going to be holes and if you just fill them in with bondo they will fall out after a little bit of time. do it right weld them in and grind the excess. as far as paint cost goes it cost like 200 a body part then like a extra 100 to bled the paint on the quarters(so the paint acually matches) check you local maaco. thats your best bet. make sure to get base coat clearcoat.

+1 to maaco, and $600 does sound quite a bit harsh. I'd also go around and check out some more shops to see what they say, I'm sure you could find someone reputable who would do it for cheaper, just take your time, don't rush, look around at all your options then make an informed decision once you have done all that.

Is there a specific reason why you need the spoiler? I would much rather put some money into performance than into looks, but thats just my 2 cents.
