okay i wasnt sure where to post this but if im in the wrong im sure a moderator will move it. well anyway ive ben doing alot of searching and reading and i cant quite get the exact answer im loking for. i found this site about the vacuum line setup,

http://web.archive.org/web/20040621102025/www.taboospeedshop.com/emissions.htm

now say i wanted to do the "race only" setup, are those the only vacuum lines ill need? or is there others that just werent covered? i just want to get some clarification so i dont screw up my motor LOL

Thing you need to remember is , if you are in a state or county that does emissions check , you will fail without those hoses . Check before you start removing vac lines .

yea im not worried about emissions because i can get a 2 year waiver here where i live so thats not an issue i just wanted to make sure that my car isnt gonna get all screwed up from removing them.

Don't expect much (if any) performance gain from removing them. Most of the emissions control on DSMs and other modern cars is in the closed-loop feedback engine control system, cleaned up by the cataclysmic diverter.

Note that the nasty, terrible, scary, filthy EGR isn't as much for pollution control as it is for cylinder cooling when off-load. With unleaded gas, most of the old clogging and buildup has been eliminated.

It ain't the goddamned seventies anymore, and we all rejoice in it.

its not so much for performance, just cleaner engine bay honistly i hate looking at 800 vacuum lines when i can reduce it to about 4 and its not very hard just making sure i got all the right lines hooked up to the right place more so is the only hard part. :)

That particular generation DSM actually has a whole lot less vacuum lines than most cars from that era. Have you ever seen a late 80's carbureted Civic's vacuum diagram? There's more to a clean engine bay than just removing stuff. :D
