3" Cat

Ok, I have to pass emissions out here in AZ and have a test pipe on my 3" VRS Turboback. Does anyone know where I can find a 3" High Flow Cat to replace that test pipe with that already has flanges? I don't want to have to pay a muffler shop to weld the cat to the exhaust. I know Magnaflow makes excellent high flow cats but i'd really like to have one that i can just bolt on and not have to weld. thanks.

Just to pass emissions then put back on your test/race pipe, get these:

with the Magnaflow. You should be good after that and can use them every time you have to retest your emissions.

Im not positive but I think RRE has 3" bolt on high flow cats. If they do I'm also not sure if it will bolt on to your exhaust but its worth a shot to give them a call or email them.

Thanks for the help guys. The VRS exhaust i have has the same type of mounting flanges as the stock it's just three inch pipe so i'll check RRE and see what they have. As long as it's a three inch pipe with stock style flanges it should work no problem.

do the universal 3" cats from Magnaflow go inside my pipe to clamp it behind my flanges or is welding going to be the only option if the cat isn't flanged?

This is cheap.weld some flanges to it.
410300 - 3" Catalytic Converter - 410300
and the magnaflow is 3'' so it will not slide into your exhaust, if you got a 2 1/2'' one you could put it inside you pipe but will most likely have exhaust leak issues depending how tight it gets the clamp.

I have a OBX 3" Cat with Vibrant Flanges welded onto it. I can sell it to you if you'd like but it's only a half core cat (but definitely better than this one 410300 - 3" Catalytic Converter - 410300) so your car better not be running rich other it will fail even with the cat. MSG me if you are interested in buying it.

You could try just hollowing out your stocker. thats what I did for a little while, sounded a hell of alot better.

well no worries about the cat, i went to go get tested and they couldn't do smog on the rollers because i'm awd. and the car was so low that they weren't able to look underneath for a cat or rear O2. so they ran my obd-2 and with my dsmlink it didn't throw any codes so i was good to go. thanks for the input though guys.
