hello have a 1991 eclipse gs N/T i bought it like 3 months ago and well it starts over heating in town so i did the following.1.wired the fans to a switch. 2. new raidator.3.new water pump.4.new belts.5.new cap.6.new termostat.7new head gasket.8 flushed the hole system.9. 70/30 (water/antifreeze).10.new heater core.11. head shaved.12.opened up the hood a little bit. and well nothing helped i run the fans in town and it stays cool for a little bit. goes all the way up to almost the red(useing a 180F thermostat).hi way is fine once in awhile fans need to be on but in town its bad.block was checked for cracks and it was fine.im out of things to try please help me the car on my profile is not the on i am having a problem with help.

how much was the head shaved? if it was milled too much, you could run into heating problems like i did my 7 bolt that had the head shaved too far. Check your timing as well. I believe N/T are supposed to be at 5* BTDC as well. Is there and oil in the antifreeze or antifreeze in the oil? Lets hope not :p

Was the head checked for cracks as well?

the head was milled not much at all it was done at the shop and there is no antifreeze in oil or the outher way around and the timming has been done about 4 times and nothing new yet:(

If they put the head back on and did not adjust the Cam Angle Sensor (CAS) properly, your timing could be way off causing the fuel to be igniting too early or too late. Most likely, it is too early. I would get someone to check the timing to be sure that it is around 5* BTDC. Does the car feel sluggish at all or does it have a miss?

Oh it miss when cold but not to bad when i turn thr cas a little bit it stops but when it warms back up i got to turn it back? i dont know next week im rebuiling it and getting a new wiring harness and sencer with a new ecu this should stop i hope

If you had the shop do all the timing, I would get another shop to check your timing marks. sounds like something is not lining up. If the other shop takes pictures of the timing marks on the motor and they don't line up....get the shop who put it on in the first place to pay for everything :) they messed it up, they should pay for it.

Don't take it back the the first shop because they could take it apart and notice it was wrong, then say it is something else and charge you for it.

have you changed your radiator hoses if theres a pin sized hole in it it can cause it to over heat, also try and burp the system.
