I got a leak in the swivel fitting in my -10 AN Stainless Oil Return Line.

I took it off and there isn't anyway to tighten that swivel fitting.

How would I go about stopping this leak? :sosad:

Where would I try JB weld? I can't even get behind the swivel fitting, it's a one piece kinda thing

JBWeld is a cheap fix, trust me, I used that crap for years before I realized that it doesn't belong in anyone's tool box.

get a new fitting for it, most likely it is leaking from an insoluable part of the fitting. It's 25 bucks or so and will save you lots of headache. Also, you're not supposed to use teflon tape on any AN fittings.

P.s., let's have a party, everyone who replied is from jersey!

How come it's a no go for Teflon on AN fittings?

On a AN fitting the 37degree flair is what does the sealing. The threads are there just to hold it togther. The most you should put on the threads is a bit of oil so they dont gall and seaze (that makes a big mess:sosad:)

It definitely has it's place in my toolbox. It's saved my ass more times than I can count.

If you ever get stuck 50 miles from civilization in the desert, with a hole the size of a golf ball in the transfer case of your truck, JB weld will fix it.

Or if you're at the track, 150 miles from home, and the dowel pin comes out of the flywheel on your Evo, and punches a nice 1/4" hole in your transmission and you lose all of the fluid. JB weld will fix it.

If the stupid water pipe on your truck cracks in 3 different places after jumping the truck 3 feet in the air, JB weld again.

However, I wouldn't use it on that fitting unless I absolutely had to. It's usually just for emergency type situations, where you don't have other options.

I agree, I would replace the fitting, also check and make sure its not coming from the gasket on your car as well, i just had that happen to me and i though it was the an fitting, but it wasnt, if yours is the fitting replace it for sure
