:cry:Alright first off my first gear was starting to go, it kept grinding worse and worse every day till the point i cant even put it in anymore...yes i did a few launches probably the cause. So i replace the Master and Slave cylinder for the clutch and bled it and everything then now its hard to shift into 3rd and 5th sometimes pop out fifth, and when the car is hot or after putting it in WOT for mybe like a min it wont go into any gear. At one point the car smelled like clutch for like 1/2 hr but i didnt launch it or anything. I need a cost-effective solution not "rebuild the whole thing" if your going to say that please dont bother posting thank you

BTW my car is 1995 Eclipse GSX 5-speed

as far as gears popping out.. your syncros are bad and YES you will need to rebuild the transmission ROFL enjoy

ok ill adjust my clutch rod and ill just bleed the clutch again for hell of it, now why doesnt it go in first gear?

Edit:Oh and oviously im in the newbie forum but the clutch rod is that the part thats on the master cylinder that sticks into the clutch pedal? i know it sounds stupid not familier with tranny parts

for a cost effective way should i just replace 1st gear 2nd and 5th syncros with evo3 first gear with double syncro and double 2nd and just replace 5th, along with a new clutch fork mybe? instead of just replacing everything

How do you even know thats your problem? Have you torn the tranny apart yet?

check your shifter cables to see if any off them are frayed at the linkage. mine acted the same way. i replace a whole lot of crap when it was really my cables.

check the cables. but the damage is already done but if its the cables it will be able to drive and work for a long time.

later you will need to rebuild the tranny

Depending on how much you want to spend, sometimes a used transmission is the most cost effective way to go. Unless you are pretty adept at transmission rebuilding, doing it yourself could lead to more misery if a critical part is put in wrong or omitted during rebuild. Have a known good transmission shop do this for you if you are going to rebuild it. On the other hand, you can't learn any younger. Download or purchase a good service manual and step by step do what it shows.

Good Luck

Cool, ill try checking my shifter cables. but your right im pretty sure theres some damage done already. but thanks guys

I remember there was a problem that 5th gear pops out because a loose nut or something cant remember where the post was about it. Does anyone recall anything like that because i doubt the syncros are bad for fifth
